“Manufactured crises reveal hypocrisy”

Ottawa County Board of Commissioners Meeting
Public Comment

I’ve heard a lot of things today… Commissioner Moss had mentioned a few months ago that there are a lot of manufactured crises. And those seem to be coming to head a little bit more today, …people worried about the board member in CMH saying the R-word. It’s interesting that they don’t understand that this man is a consumer. He’s a consumer sitting on the Board.

Lori G. continued:

They’re also making comments about the man in their group:

“It is time to flood his social media accounts with commentary. That is the price he should pay for his position.”

Or, “Nice. Three-year appointment for this reject.” So obviously, if they’re concerned about suicides—that only happened last Tuesday.”

They’re concerned about the words that are being used, which are not good words and should be thought about. But they are also following, as we’ve learned, Joe Spaulding, who called a man a “gorilla.” They are also following Larry Jackson, who quotes on one of his Instagram posts, “My pants are darker. We ain’t matching, fag.” Or, as he’s getting a pedicure, he is “no homo.” Or, as he’s at a party somewhere with friends, he is “sweating like a slave.”

Hypocrisy? I think so.
